GEC District - American RiverEagle Rank Advancement

Life to Eagle / Eagle Advancement Seminar

The Life to Eagle or Eagle Advancement Seminar is held at the monthly Round Table meeting the third Thursday of each month (with the exception of the month that the district's Adult Recognition Dinner is being held when no L2E seminar is held). This seminar is designed for Life Scouts, their parents, and their leaders that have questions about the Eagle Scout submission process. The seminar includes instructions on projects and a checklist of important application issues. The list of items to bring to the seminar should refer to the documents at the top of the page, and not itemized in the seminar section.. No pre-registration is necessary. Just show up.

Council and National no longer supply Eagle packets. So all Scouts attending the Life-to-Eagle seminars are expected to print off their documentation ahead of time. Please make sure all Life Scouts print the following documents and bring with them:

An important part of advancement for our youth is the earning of certain merit badges. This could not happen without the help of registered merit badge counselors. Learn how to become a Merit Badge Counselor for El Dorado District.

Eagle Countdown

How many people help an Eagle Scout attain that rank? Twelve? Fifteen? Get a pencil and paper and be ready for a surprise! Let's start with 2 parents . . . 21 merit badge counselors . . . 5 boards of review. . . schoolteachers. . .4 Camporees. The list should be about 60 people already. How about camp staffs…Scoutmaster and staff…Explorer Advisor… senior patrol leader and assistants…post officers…the institutional representative …troop committee…mothers' auxiliary…district commissioners and public and school librarians. If your counting has been correct, you should have at least 100 people. Each has done his or her part in preparing Scouts for the Eagle rank. If just one person had not taken the time or the effort, the entire chain might have been broken. Eagle Scouts can wear their badges proudly and be thankful that so many people really care.
