Fun projects for kids that you can do from home
District Awards Recognition Ceremony: We will be doing our inaugural 2020 American River District Awards Recognition Ceremony on May 14 at 7:00pm. We're not sure yet if we'll be able to do a potluck dinner; at the very least, we'll recognize our outstanding Scouting volunteers over live video. Nominate someone worthy in your unit by filling out this survey.
Camporee: Postponed to fall. Open to all Scouts BSA troops and Venturing crews. Interpatrol competitions and close location make the event great for new Scouts! Theme this year: S P A C E. More details to come in the following months.
Cub Family Campout: Also postponed to fall. Open to all Cub Scouts and their families at River Bend Park in Rancho Cordova, in partnership with Three Rivers district. Weekend program includes STEM activities, crafts, two dinners, and campfire program. Theme is WEiRd Science. Only $20 for all participants. Flag Stands: Our district is in search of a set of flag stands. If your unit happens to have an extra set you'd be willing to donate to the district or resell for a decent price, please let me know.
VFW Scout of the Year
The Veterans of Foreign Wars is offering a Scout of the Year award for the following:
Scouts who have received the Eagle Scout Award, Girl Scout Gold Award, Venture Summit Award or Sea Scout Quartermaster Award.
